Dr Otabil is a Parasitologist and Vector Biologist with considerable research experience in neglected tropical disease. His research interest is in Xenomonitoring/Xenodiagnosis of neglected tropical diseases and parasitic enzymes as therapeutic targets. Research tools frequently used in his research include PCR, in vitro and in vivo analysis, proteomics, microscopy etc. His research has led to significant scientific publications in the area of onchocerciasis (river blindness) and lymphatic filariasis.
